Broken-Boned Jay Leno Recovers to Make Bad Broken-Boned Jeremy Renner Jokes

It wasn’t that long ago that Jay Leno was laid up in a hospital bed, presumably unable to get to his phone thanks to a recent motorcycle crash that resulted in multiple cracked ribs, a broken collarbone, and two cracked kneecaps. But the comic is back on his feet, finding the strength to tweet wacky wisecracks about other victims of horrific accidents.  

Hey-o! We guess Jeremy Renner is a bigger celebrity than Leno at this point but is it really punching up when the subject of your joke nearly died while saving his nephew from a snowplow? Predictably, the tweet sparked a social media fire. Renner fans, shall we say, were not amused.

Then there’s the “relax, it’s just a joke” crowd. 

No comment from ol’ Hawkeye yet, though we’d guess an eye-roll would probably be the extent of his objections. As for Leno, he’ll have plenty of time to reply to all of those Twitter mentions--NBC Universal just cut the brakes on Jay Leno’s Garage, marking the first time in 30 years that Leno won’t have a presence on an NBC channel. For the notorious workaholic, the reprieve should give him more free time to devote to his vehicular catastrophes.
